HELLO THERE!

I'm Nichola Latzgo. I'm an animator and compositor.

There is nothing I love more in this world than bringing my drawings to life!

I graduated spring 2018 from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. I moved to Brooklyn that summer, and I am  in love with this new city.

I have made work for Adult Swim, Netflix, Pitchfork, and Amazon.

When I'm not drawing, I spend my time working with glass, reading science fiction, and knitting up a storm.

I am quite at home in the Adobe Creative Suite and TV Paint. After Effects is my absolute favorite!

I worked with a split LA and NYC comp team to realize Pendleton Ward and Duncan Trussell's animation Midnight Gospel. I worked within detailed After Effects templates, and managed Adobe Animate assets.

I cleaned up and composited stop motion assets for Amazon Prime day media which was featured on Facebook, Instagram, and Amazon's website.

I managed deliverables to Adult Swim while communicating with a split NYC and LA post production team. I composited Adobe Animate assets in After Effects, and was tasked with developing finished looks for the show.

I directed and created this piece hand in hand with a TED ED educator. I was given a script, and was allowed free range with creation of the piece, from content to character design.

I helped animate the animated interlude of the Expensifty Th!$ music video. Animation was handled in Adobe Animate.

Pitchfork provided me with a script for this piece, and I created everything else, including the storyboards, character design, and editing. Assets were created in TV Paint and Photoshop, and composited in After Effects.

I worked hand in hand with the director to composite Photoshop assets in After Effects. I handled animating assets in After Effects, including curling stones, golf balls, and character movement.

My film Spa Day won best film at my student showcase. It was featured as Cartoon Boom's film of the day, as well as being included in the Florida Film Festival. It was animated in TV Paint, composited in After Effects, and sound edited in Audition.

I worked as part of the composite team on the first season of The Jellies! I composited assets created in Adobe Animate and Photoshop in After Effects.

My film Midnight Snack won best art design at the Bucks County Film Festival. It has been included in The Barnhouse Collective Film Festival, Philadelphia Indiependants Film Festival, and the Open World Animation Festival.

Mr Maxx and His Genitals was created in TV Paint, with compositing handled in After Effects. It has been included in screenings by the Barnhouse Collective, and the University of the Arts.

7 O' Clock was my first animated film, and was included in the University of the Arts senior screening although it was a sophomore film. It has been included in the Princeton Student Film Festival, the Open World Animation Festival, Philadelphia Indiependants Film Festival, and various screenings at the University of the Arts.

I was a class valedictorian candidate, with a graduating GPA of 3.9. I won the Lawrence Fish Award for my achievements in Animation, Fibers and Glass. My senior film Spa Day won best film in my senior student showcase.

I graduated with high honors. While completing this degree, I worked at WXLV radio studio, hosting two radio programs. I helped with station maintenance, as well as recording live bands and station promos.
